Cool MP3 Editor Help - Add Noise |
|
Inserts noise in an audio file.

| Parameter |
Description |
Amplitude |
An amplitude of noise in db, from -92 db to 0. |
Noise Type |
The noise type. 1- white noise, 2 - Gaussian noise. |
Tip
- You can select a part of a file using the Selection Panel.
-
If a part of a file is selected then the noise replaces the selected part, otherwise it is inserted at the current cursor position. The Amplitude = -92 is the least noise signal, Amplitude = 0 is the most noise signal.
-
N db = 20 lg (Pn/P0)
N - number of db.
Pn - Level of sound pressure in pascals.
P0 = 2*105 pascals.
-
These methods help to eliminate the problems of distortion caused by gating signals that are part of the foreground audio signal, and the problem of sustained notes being suddenly killed by the noise gate.
